SLUDGE RHEOLOGY DATABASE
The world’s leading database for sludge rheological properties.
The development of new sewage and sludge processes has resulted in a growing number of novel sludge types whose rheological properties cannot be accurately predicted using the existing data.
As current design approaches are based on this data, there have been some very costly mistakes including equipment failures and additional capital & operating costs from over-design.
Experience tells us that it is vital to know how the sludge being processed flows in order to design, size or evaluate equipment for sludge pumping, transportation, handling, mixing, thickening, de-watering, heating or other processing.
In response to this, the Sludge Rheology Database has been developed from a combination of existing data and BHR Group technical expertise covering both potable and wastewater applications together with a wide range of ‘new’ sludge types including primary, polymer-conditioned and hydrolysed sludges.
Access to the database is currently via membership of WWM or through our consultancy services. A pay-as-you-go web based version is due to be up and running at the end of 2009!
