Valve and Actuator Flow and Cavitation
We have a flow-loop facility suited to testing industrial/marine water valves. This versatile re-configurable rig provides the capability to perform a wide range of tests in order to obtain component loss characteristics and endurance data for both shut-off and control valves, as well as associated pipeline equipment.
A parallel combination of pumps allows seamless transitioning from high flow rates at valve-open conditions to high pressure at valve-shut conditions, facilitating testing within a wide envelope of operating parameters. PC based control coupled with a hydraulic power pack provides flexible driving options: In addition to manual operation, automatic electric or hydraulic valve actuation is possible. Extensive instrumentation with automatic monitoring allows 24-hour cyclic endurance testing with periodic data saving for later analysis of test conditions during un-manned hours.
Applications include valve testing to BS 5793 (Industrial process control valves), MIL-STD-1474D for airborne noise performance and MIL-STD-740-2 for structureborne vibratory noise performance. We can also work to client’s own test specifications.
