Technical Visit(s)
The Committee’s choice of Nottingham as the venue for its 2008 Conference is strongly supported by Rolls-Royce, the East Midlands Development Agency and the Midlands Aerospace Alliance, gives delegates the opportunity for two excellent site visits.
- The University of Nottingham’s state-of-the-art waterjet machining technology centre will be open to delegates.
- Our second visit is to Rolls-Royce in Derby. In their Aircraft Repair Centre delegates will see waterjets in operation. Delegates will also be given a tour of the Rolls-Royce Heritage Centre where many World-famous engines, from the inception of the company to the present day, are on display.
With such important technical visits, the Committee has scheduled them for the Thursday afternoon of the conference. Delegates will be taken by coach from the hotel to the two venues and returned to the hotel in good time for the Conference Dinner. The cost of the coach travel is included in the price of the conference.
