BHR Open Day For BVAA Members

Published on 14 May 2021

BHR Open Day For BVAA Members

BHR Group is committed to engaging with companies via professional membership organisations to showcase and share our core areas of expertise.

We were delighted to work with the British Valve & Actuator Association to offer their members an exclusive seminar and tour of our premises.

We had a great response from BVAA members and welcomed a large group of guests from many different organisations to the day. Technical presentations were given by BHR experts Craig Knight, Waldo Rosales, Gerry McNulty and Emily Ho and delegates really gained an insight into what can be achieved by collaborating with our experts.

The highlight of the day was a tour of our testing facilities, with live demonstrations of our Blowdown Rig and Water Flow Loop.

Valve Testing

BHR’s valve testing capability extends to a wide range of valve types: Ball, check, pressure regulator, pressure relief, surge relief, rotary actuated and valve manifolds. Our testing services includes:

  • Hydrostatic proof pressure
  • Seat leakage
  • Hyperbaric pressure
  • Flow Testing – Liquid & Air
    • Performance characterisation - Cv, Kv, FL
    • Pressure relief devices - lift & reseat pressures, flow capacity
    • Regulating valves – performance curves, flow capacity, loss coefficient
  • Cyclic endurance / manoeuvring
  • Airborne noise (ABN) & Structureborne noise (SBN)
  • Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) & Functionality
  • Customer specific tests.

Test Facility Tour and Demonstration

One of BHR’s main strengths is our ability to design, build and commission bespoke rigs to customers’ specific requirements. We work with clients to advise and determine the most appropriate way to test their products and components to ensure that the final test regimes are not only robust, but cost-effective and deliver the results they need.

We also have a number of fixed test rigs that we can utilise to carry out specific test. Our test facilities include a Water Flow Loop, High Pressure Water Rig, Blow Down Rig, High Flow Rig and a Downhole Test Facility.

Rob Bartlett, Director and CEO of the BVAA said:

“The BVAA’s mission is to create value for our members by providing excellent business networks, new business opportunities, industry recognised training, technical expertise and influence. Therefore we were delighted to work with BHR Group on this informative seminar and tour of their impressive facilities. BHR has a wide range of services and expertise that is relevant to the valve industry and we look forward to working more closely together over the coming years.”
